About Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan is situated in the north-east of the Central Asia and has square of 199, 9 thousand km².

Kyrgyzstan is a mountainous country, where mountains occupy about 80 percents of all the territory and value surface doesn’t fall less than 500 meters above sea level.

There all seascapes in the territory of Kyrgyzstan: severe inaccessible peaks, free-wheeling steppes, Alpine meadows, the herby of which combined with crystal-clear mountain air turn head, torrent rivers and mountain lakes are real pearls setting in snow-covered peaks, as well as the largest walnut forests in our planet.

Anciently Kyrgyzstan was a cultural and trade crossing of the Central-Asian civilization, The Great Silk Way passing through the whole country made a connection between the East and West of the Eurasian continent. In the modern time Kyrgyzstan also remains a strategically important center of culture, trade and tourism.

Kyrgyzstan is a country with large tourist potential; which has been developing and improving every year. Our country is a depositary of large number of wildlife and mysterious habitats. Each amenity of the Republic is a rear act of nature.

Based on natural resources, tourism is divided into mountain skiing, sports and recreation tourism, auto tourism, speleo tourism, sport hunting, fishing, trekking, medicinal herbs and berries gathering, mineral collection, alpinism, sightseeing tours along the north and south parts of the Republic with rest in the Issyk-Kul Lake and in mountains.
